This notice should be read with our Privacy Policy. We use only first-party cookies and similar storage. We do not use advertising or social-media pixels.
Essential
Needed for the site to work. Sign-in (funeral directors, and optional My Parish email save) uses session cookies from our auth provider. Language preference is stored as cookie parishlife_locale (up to one year) and may also be stored in localStorage. Followed parishes are stored in localStorage (parishlife_my_parishes, parishlife_home_parish) until you optionally save them with email. The beta banner dismissal and cookie choice are stored in localStorage (parishlife_beta_banner_v1, parishlife_consent_v1).
Analytics (optional)
Only if you choose Accept analytics on the banner. We then record first-party page views (path and time). No advertising identifier. No Google Analytics. To change or withdraw that choice, use (also in the footer), or email privacy@parishlife.ie. We ask again after 12 months.
Your choice
The banner offers Accept analytics or Essential only, with equal styling. Closing the banner is treated as essential only. Open Cookie settings any time from the footer. Location permission for “Mass near me” is a browser permission, not a cookie; we request it only when you use that feature. Directions “Near me” uses the same browser location permission so Google Maps can draw a route from where you are.
